Do I need to know everything I want to put on my wedding
web site to get it started?
Definitely not. Once you
receive your order confirmation email, you may begin entering
the text for your wedding web site at your convenience.
How do the updates
work? How do I send them?
It's very simple. Once
you are a member, you will be able to log on to update your
wedding web site with your email address and a password.
To submit an update, it is required that you resubmit the
entire page of text including your updates. Once the update
is received, the corresponding page will be completely replaced
with the updated text submitted.
Will I be able to
have the domain name of my choice?
If you select the Sapphire
or Diamond Package, you do have the option to have the domain
name of your choice. We will ask you to submit three choices
for your domain name since not all desired domain names
are available and you may not get your first choice.
Are there any restrictions
on the photos I choose to put on my wedding web site and
how do I go about submitting them?
You and your fiancé will need to supply
a copyright free photo of yourselves that will appear on
each page of your personalized wedding web site. Keep in
mind when choosing a photo that the closer together you
are, the better it will look. You can submit a black and
white or color photo. All photos submitted must be free
from copyright. If you would like to post your wedding photographer's
photos, you must get his/her release prior to submission.
All photos may be submitted via email or the postal service.
If you choose to send them electronically (email), please
provide us with one of the following formats: jpeg, gif,
or bmp. If you would like to send them through the postal
service, please mail them to: The Wedding Window, P.O.
Box 784, Hudson, NH 03051 - any photos submitted via
the postal service cannot be returned. The Wedding Window
has the right to refuse to publish any information or photographs
that it deems to be offensive or inappropriate for public
display.
If I select the RSVP
page as one of my choices, where does the RSVP response
go when my guest sends the form?
Through the order form,
you will be able to designate the email address to which
you would like your RSVP responses sent. All responses will
then arrive at that designated email address. Keep in mind
that this feature alone can pay for your site. If you know
that most/all of your guests have access to the internet
and email, you can eliminate the need for response cards
and the postage to send and receive them. Response cards
alone (including postage) can costs upwards of $600-$700.
I want to change the
background color of the design I like. Can I do that?
Yes. On the design page
of The Wedding Window web site, you will find a link to
"background color options". On the "background
color options" page you will notice a selection of
background colors that are available to choose from. Be
aware that not all of the available colors work well with
each of the designs. Therefore, we have provided you with
color suggestions on the right of that page for each of
the design choices to help you select the colors best suited
for your design. Designs with a white background must remain
on a white background and any color change request will
be applied to the most prominent color of the design (Flowers
& Romance and Now and Forever). You are certainly
not required to change the color from that which you see
in your chosen design, but if you do, you will not
be able to update (change) your color choice through one
of your updates.
I know that I can
submit a photo of us to appear on every page of our web
site, but do I have the option to change that photo once
I have submitted it?
Once your web site is viewable
on the internet, graphic changes are no longer possible
including the photo submitted for each page of the
web site. However, if you change your mind about your choice
of photo prior to your web site becoming viewable on the
internet, you may send us an email
with your change request and we'll do our best to accommodate
you.
How long does it take
to see my web site online after I have placed my order and
how long will it be online?
Your web site will be online
within two weeks of receipt of your order and payment and
will remain online for a period of one year (you may request
an extension for a nominal fee). Keep in mind that because
you are in control of the information displayed on your
site, at the time that your web site goes online, any content
you have submitted up to that point will be displayed. However,
any pages without submitted content will display "coming
soon" in the content area of that page until the content
is received by The Wedding Window.
How can I let my guests
know about my wedding web site?
We suggest sending out
'Save the Date' cards printed with your wedding web site
address inviting them to come to your wedding web site for
more details as the wedding date approaches. Soon we will
be adding an email announcement feature to our site.
I'm using AOL and
the graphics on my web site/design don't look very good?
Is there something wrong?
If you are using AOL to
access the World Wide Web, you may be experiencing poor
graphic quality. AOL may use compressed graphics that can
make pictures look poor in quality. If you are viewing web
pages with pictures and the quality is not good, this is
the most likely cause.
The
Fix
From the AOL main screen select My AOL > Preferences > WWW.
From here select the Web Graphics tab and uncheck the "Use
Compressed Graphics" check box.
Check to make sure that your screen monitor resolution is
set correctly. Most web sites today use a setting of 800x600
HIGH COLOR or TRUE COLOR.
To check, hold your mouse over your desktop and right click,
then click properties, then click the SETTINGS TAB, Screen
Area should be set at 800x600.
Color should say HIGH COLOR or TRUE COLOR. Click OK and
return to AOL.
You will now see graphics
the way they were meant to be seen. If all else fails, use
Netscape or Internet Explorer as The Wedding Window designs
were optimized for display in these browsers.
We
hope we have answered all of your questions and look forward
to working with you to create your personalized wedding
web site.
